We built the review site we always wished existed.
Every time we searched for an honest software recommendation, we ran into the same wall. Review sites that clearly hadn’t touched the product. Star ratings that seemed bought. “Best of” lists where every single tool had five stars and a convenient affiliate badge. It was noise dressed up as information.
So we started RankTheStack.
The name says it: we sift through the stack — the ever-growing pile of SaaS tools, software subscriptions, and tech products competing for your budget — and surface what’s actually worth your time and money.
What we do differently
- We test tools before we review them — sometimes for months
- We include real pricing, including what the “starting from” price actually unlocks
- We write genuine cons. Every tool has them. If a review has no negatives, it’s a sales page, not a review
- We update reviews when pricing or features change — stale information is worse than no information
- We explain our affiliate relationships clearly and prominently, not in tiny footer print

How we make money — the honest version
RankTheStack uses affiliate links. When you click a link to a product we recommend and make a purchase or sign up, we earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the site.

A note on our ratings
Every tool we review receives a score out of 10, broken down across five categories: ease of use, features, pricing/value, integrations, and support. A 7/10 is genuinely good. An 8/10 is excellent. A 9/10 is rare. We don’t give 10s. No tool is perfect.
Where we’re based
RankTheStack is run from Missouri, USA. We’re a small independent operation — not a VC-funded media company, not a content farm. Just a team that cares about getting software recommendations right.
